A Standout Night for Magic Glass at the AGWA Awards

It was a proud night for the Magic Glass team at the NSW/National AGWA Awards in Sydney, with our apprentice Hayden Baker receiving the Industry Rising Star Award and Magic Glass recognised for both safety innovation and project delivery.

Hayden Baker Named Industry Rising Star

One of the best things about managing or leading a business is seeing people, especially young people, grow and start to achieve their life and career ambitions.

Our apprentice, Hayden Baker, was awarded the Industry Rising Star Award, recognising his hard work and the potential he has already shown within the glazing industry. When you’ve been in the trade for a long time, you get a pretty good feel for when you have an apprentice who is going to achieve something. Hayden is one of those young people.

Regardless of where his future direction takes him, we have no doubt he will do that and more. We are all very proud of what you have achieved, Hayden. Well deserved, mate.

National Award for Safety Innovation

Magic Glass also received the National Award for Safety Innovation for our height access team’s lifting bag, developed for high-rise glass replacements.

Working with large and heavy glass panels at height presents a unique set of challenges. The lifting bag was developed to support safer handling during these complex replacement projects and is an example of how our team continues to find practical ways to improve safety on site.

The award is a credit to everyone involved in developing the lifting bag and putting it into practice across our height access work.

Sydney University Project Highly Commended

Our Sydney University replacement project also received a Highly Commended recognition on the night.

This recognition reflects the work that goes on behind the scenes across every stage of a project, from planning and coordination through to the glazing works carried out on site.

These results are a credit to the people involved and the ongoing work across Magic Glass to improve what we do.
