Client: Anglicare Minto Devlopment
Project Scope: The development featured 220 retirement units across seven buildings and a 100 bed aged care home. It also included a café, community centre, landscaped communal spaces and parking. Magic Glass manufactured and installed all glazing and glass hardware for the site.
Duration: The project duration for the glazing work was 6 months.
Delivery Model
The scope included 346 openings across seven buildings. Magic Glass supplied awning windows, sliding doors, internal partitions, automated entries, Crimsafe security and flyscreens. Prototype windows were tested for weatherproofing. To meet deadlines the company doubled shifts in both fabrication and installation.
The Challenge
The project’s size and complexity created major challenges. Hundreds of glazing installations had to meet strict wind, weather and crowd load requirements. Security was critical and the work had to be delivered on a tight schedule, even through the holiday period.
The Solution
Magic Glass provided custom glazing systems that preserved the architect’s design intent while ensuring performance. Prototypes confirmed waterproofing and additional labour shifts ensured deadlines were met. Close collaboration with Hansen Yuncken allowed smooth coordination and quick defect resolution.
The Feedback
Project Manager Anton Dadich praised Magic Glass’s ability to manage glazing across seven buildings, something few suppliers could achieve. He highlighted their strong communication, responsiveness and willingness to resolve issues. He confirmed he would happily recommend Magic Glass for future projects.
