Project Scope: The work involved removal of a broken awning panel and replacement with a custom made panel. The new panel was a 17.52 mm clear, heat strengthened, toughened laminated safety glass with a matching frit pattern.

Duration: This was a fast turnaround job, completed in about 4 hours from removal to installation.

Delivery Model

After obtaining necessary permits (including for crane access) Magic Glass fabricated the custom glass panel offsite. The new laminated safety glass with frit detailing was then installed using a crane into the existing awning frame.

The Challenge

Because the awning was damaged, safety was a concern, not only for the glass itself but also the removal and replacement work, which required crane operations in a possibly confined urban setting. Matching the frit pattern and ensuring the replacement glass panel conformed to safety standards were also critical.

The Solution

Magic Glass secured all required permits, including for crane usage, to ensure safe execution. Their fabrication team produced the custom 17.52 mm laminated safety glass panel with the correct frit pattern. The installation was then carried out efficiently by their glazing crew, using the crane to lift and fit the heavy panel.
