Client: Sydney Swans, FDC Construction

Project Scope: Magic Glass replaced 2,262 heritage glass panels on the exterior of the Royal Hall of Industries with modern 4 mm toughened low-e glass. Internally, the team completed a commercial fit out of the “field of play” areas using crowd load rated and acoustic rated laminated glass.

Duration: The project was carried out over 10 months.

Delivery Model

Locally fabricated by Bent & Curved Glass installed by Magic Glass.

The Challenge

Works included the fabrication and installation of aluminium framed windows and fixed panels. The team also delivered frameless pivot doors, automatic sliding doors and bi fold units. Internally, high crowd load rated glazing systems were installed to meet safety and compliance standards.

The Solution

Magic Glass installed over two thousand low-e toughened glass panels that matched the building’s heritage design while improving energy efficiency. Inside, acoustic laminated glass reduced noise transfer and C3, C4 and C5 crowd load rated panels were used to ensure spectator safety. All elements were custom fabricated by Magic Glass and professionally installed by their glazing team.

The Feedback

Jay Jones, Leading Hand at FDC Construction, commended Magic Glass for their performance on the project. He noted the heritage glass replacement and interior glazing were delivered on time, with outstanding workmanship and quality. He added that Magic Glass took great pride in their work and that he would recommend them for future projects.
